About the Project
A gift for my partner: our cat, Barge. Her favorite toy is springs, and we’ve always called her our spring-ed angel, so the springs became the scene and the nickname became the title, placed where she’s looking.
Process
This is the style I keep coming back to: semi-realistic, built from flat shapes. I drew her from a photo, shape by shape, sampling each color straight from the picture. Up close it’s hundreds of separate pieces; from a distance it turns into fur.
