cow jumping over the moon

About the Project

This was the first animation I ever made. I used to be obsessed with cows, so when I got a frame-by-frame assignment, the cow jumping over the moon was the obvious choice.

Process

I animated it in Adobe Animate with just two drawings of the cow, swapping between them every few frames as it moves across the sky to create a gallop. The “moo” uses the same trick, with two hand-drawn versions trading places in time with the sound. For the stars, I put each one on its own layer and blinked them on and off at different times so they twinkle out of sync.
